Shoulder Mounted Weapon

We also had to create a shoulder mounted gun for the module, this didn't have to be textured but it had to be our own design.. here was my 'attempt'. I got too involved with the G36C and didn't spend anywhere near enough time on this resulting in it being a bit of a mess.

3D Modelling for Games Hand-in

The hand in for 3D Modelling for Games is tomorrow.. Unwrapping the gun took quite a while and the texture, in the renders at least, turned out quite dark. But overall I'm pretty happy with it, definitely need to work on my presentation though!

G36C Model

Following on from the alleyway tutorial we had to model a gun to finish off the year, I chose a G36C and this is my progress so far with it.. I'm pretty happy with it so far, especially considering it's my first real attempt at doing a somewhat complex model myself.

Mo-Cap

Another module I've been taking is Motion Capture.. and today we had to present our work! We were given a 'Surfer Dude' character that had been rigged and we had to create 10 animations for him in the Mo-Cap studio, clean up the data and then apply it to the rig for the final render.

Our chosen animation set was a footballer.. below is a simple storyboard for our animations and a video of the animations themselves.

First Attempt at Texturing

The next part of the alley tutorial was to texture the dumpster and the windows as well as try out a tiling texture with a bump map on the walls. I think the textures are quite noisy in areas but it was over all a good start!

Unwrapping

Over the past few days I've been doing some unwrapping of the main assets in the scene and looking at some references getting ready to texture them for the next stages of the tutorial..

Stafford: Computer Games Design

I recently started at Staffordshire University where I'm studying Computer Games Design! One of the first modules we've been given is to follow one of the lecturers tutorials and create a small alley with a few simple assets..

Here's my first attempt at a block out of the scene.
